A musical show dedicated to Rabindranath Tagore’s songs on nature was held at the Music and Dance Centre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Saturday.
The event, titled Jhora Malotir Phuley, was organised by Bishwabeena and featured songs presented both solo and in group by the members of the organization.
It started with a chorus presentation of Amra Bedechhi Kasher Guchho, followed by Kon Puraton Pran-er Taane and Suktaara Akhi Mele Chhay.
The songs reflected on the impact of nature and different natural elements on the human heart. Another song presented in chorus was the timeless Tagore number Hridoy Aji Nachire Ajike.
In solo renditions, Bishwabeena artiste Jakia Mahfuza Arin presented Esho Nipoboney, Puja Rani Dey presented Mor Bhabonare Ki Hawai while Priyanka Sarkar Priya presented Kichhu Bolbo Boley.
Other singers who entertained the audience on the evening were Naima Parveen, Mohon Sarkar, Meherunnesa Kabir, Khandokar Khairuzzaman Kaiyum, and Bina Dutt. Some of their songs included Kon Puraton Pren-er Taane, Tomra Ja Bolo Tai Bolo, and Srabon Tumi Batashe Kar Avha Pele.
