Chayanika Saha passes away in London

Senior information officer of Press Information Department Chayanika Saha died in London, United Kingdom on Saturday.

She was 38.

Chayanika, who was the wife of Monirul Islam Kabir, first secretary at Bangladesh High Commission in London has been pursuing higher studies in London, said a PID handout on Monday.

Belonged to 24th BCS (Information) cadre, she had joined the government cadre service in 2005 after completing agriculture studies from Bangladesh Agricultural University.

Chayanika Saha who left behind two daughters, husband and other relatives had worked with professional reputation at Habiganj district information office, Department of Film and Publication and PID.

Information minister Hasanul Haq Inu and information secretary Mortuza Ahmed expressed deep condolence at untimely death of senior information officer Chayanika Saha,

Meanwhile, BCS Information Association president Md Joynal Abedin and its secretary general SM Golam Kibria also expressed deep condolence at immature death of their colleague.

They prayed for salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
