Two teams from the expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment ministry have started visiting Singapore and Thailand, two important destinations for Bangladeshi workers, said officials concerned.
EWOE minister Nurul Islam on Thursday afternoon left Dhaka Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Thailand and Singapore on eight-day visit for his treatment.
The minister will be visiting in Thailand and Singapore from 21 to 29 July, said a government order issued by the ministry.
Apartment from his treatment and medical check-up, the minister might have meetings with Bangladeshi expatriates and his counterparts in those countries, an official told migrationnewsbd.com.
As per a separate GO issued on July 18, the minister’s private secretary Md Mohsin Chowdhury and APS Yasir Md Adnan also left Dhaka on Thursday to visit Labour Wing of Singapore and Thailand for official purpose from July 2l to 27.
Minister Nurul Islam was being accompanied by his spouse Sanowara Begum, his son Muiibur Rahman their expenses would be borne by themselves, said the GO.
