Six BD workers injured in Malaysia by air-con compressor explosion

An air-conditioner compressor exploded at an electronic components factory injuring six workers from Bangladesh, said BERNAMA on Friday.

Detailed identities of the Bangladeshi injured workers could not be known immediately.

The explosion occurred as several Bangladeshi maintenance contract workers were filling gas in an air-conditioner at the factory in Jalan Ragum in Section 15 here at 5.15 pm, said Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Station chief Azmel Kamarudin.

Several other workers were welding some electronic components at that time, he added.

He said a woman worker was injured in the face when a door next to the air-conditioner was blown off its hinges and struck her.

A male maintenance worker suffered burns on the left leg, face and hands, he said when contacted by Bernama.
