KSA extends amnesty for illegal migrants by 30 days

The Saudi Arabian government extended the general amnesty by 30 days beginning from September 16 for illegal migrant workers from Bangladesh and other countries.

Bangladesh abour counselor Md Sarwar Alam confirmed the information and said that the illegal workers must return home after end of the new deadline of October 15.

If any worker with authentic visa failed to get work permit, Bangladesh mission could take legal action, he said.

The labour councilor, however, could not inform how many Bangladeshi workers undocumented in the KSA.

Over 20 lakh Bangladeshi workers are currently working in the KSA, Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh.
