Five Bangladeshis killed in Kuwait explosion

At least five members of a Bangladeshi family have been killed in a fire caused by explosion of air conditioner at a five-storey building in Kuwait city, said officials in Dhaka and Kuwait.

The explosion took place on Monday, they conformed.

The victims were identified as Rokeya Begum, 35, her daughter Jamila Akter, 15, son Imad Ahmed, 12, daughter Nabila Akter, 9, and son Fahad Ahmed, 5.

They were hailed from Kandigawon village of Sadar union of Kamolgonj upazila in Moulvibazar district.

 All the children of Juned were the students of Al Amal Indian School in Kuwait.

Rokeya's husband Juned Mia was not at their apartment when the five-storey building caught fire.

According to Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training, Kuwait is a destination of over five lakh Bangladeshis.
