The bodies of 10 Bangladeshi migrant workers were killed in road accidents in Saudi Arabia last week would be brought back home soon, said Expat welfare ministry’s secretary Namita Halder.
Talking to reporters at her office, she said that the government process has been taken to repatriate the bodies of deceased Bangladesh workers from Saudi Arabia.
At least 10 Bangladeshi migrant workers were killed and more 10 workers were injured in a road crash at Jizan province of Saudi Arabia last week, according to Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh and Consulate General Office in Jeddah.
According to message received from the Consulate General Office in Jeddah, a group of 20 Bangladeshi workers were reportedly travelling by a truck from their residence to the working place at around 7 AM on January 6.
On the way a vehicle from behind hit the truck and a result, the truck driver lost control causing serious accident reportedly claiming eight lives on the spot and another two in hospital, the letter said.
The accident took place in the Western province of Jizan about 800 kilometers from Jeddah and nearby Yemen border, a war-ravaged area, the letter said.
