A Bangladeshi migrant who was also the leader in Bangladesh community in Johannesburg city of South Africa died on Monday. He was 60.
The deceased was identified as Sarwar Hossain Tulu, hailed from Srinagar in Munshiganj.
Sarwar was suffering from diabetics and heart diseases, said Awaj Foundation’s director Anisur Rahman Khan, his classmate at Dhaka University.
Anisur Rahman said that they were friend at the 1983 batch of the master class in the History Department of University of Dhaka.
‘I got the sad news of my friend’s death today morning,’ he said.
Anis recalled that his friend migrated to South Africa in 1990 and worked in a multi-national beverage company based in Johannesburg.
Sarwar left behind his wife and one son in Bangladesh to mourn his death.
Family members processed to bring back the body from South Africa.
