The government has taken various programs to groom skilled workers for overseas jobs as the skilled workers could send more remittance and also ensure safe migration.
Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment state minister Imran Ahmad made the remarks while speaking at a seminar on ‘Awareness for Skilled Overseas Employment’ at Sylhet district council auditorium on Thursday.
He said that due to lack of awareness there were many harassments taking place in the migration sector. ‘The government has taken programs to create awareness among the aspirant migrants.’
The minister sought cooperation from all concerned to ensure safe orderly migration from Bangladesh.
Imran Ahmad said that the government was providing incentives to encourage migrant workers sending remittance through legal channels. ‘Efforts are also taken for extending facilities to the expatriates.’
Lawmaker Mahmudus Samad Chowdhury and Sylhet deputy Commissioner M Kazi Emdadul Islam among other were presen, according to a press release issued from EWOE ministry.
