Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment ministry officials on Sunday accorded a reception for their newly promoted minister Imran Ahmad.
On Saturday, EWOE ministry’s state minister Imran Ahmad took oath as a minister.
Speaking at reception the EWOE ministry officials said that they would be able to overcome challenges on manpower sector under the leadership of the new minister.
EWOE ministry secretary Rownaq Jahan said that all of the officials of the ministry were committed to implement the vision of the government.
‘We are very happy and proud of you being promoted as minister,’ she said.
Minister Imran Ahmad said that 2020 and 2021 were very important for Bangladesh as the country would celebrate its golden jubilee of the independence and also the 100th birth anniversary of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
‘Before celebration we have to achieve many things. We have to work together to enhance remittance inflow,’ he said.
The minister urged all concerned to play due role to make Bangladesh as a prosperous country which was announced by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Wage Earners’ Welfare Board director general Gazi Mohammad Julhas, Bangladesh Overseas Employment Service Limited ‘s managing director Maran Kumar Chakraborty, EWOE ministry’s additional secretaries Ahmed Munirus Saleheen, Nojibul Islam, Sabiha Parvin and other senior officials were present.
