Bangladeshi among 26 nabbed for gambling in Malaysia

Police have nabbed 26 people including a Bangladeshi man and a teenager for their alleged involvement in illegal lottery activities.  

Johor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Kamarul Zaman Mamat said all the suspects, aged between 17 and 48, were detained during raids here, in Batu Pahat and Kota Tinggi on Saturday.  

"The 36-year-old Bangladeshi was arrested in Kota Tinggi while the teenager was arrested at the city area here," he said in a statement Sunday.  

SAC Kamarul said police seized RM2,196, mobile phones and printers during the raids.  

The suspects were detained under Section 4A(a) of the Open House Gambling Act 1953.
